Libby Clegg
As a visually impaired sprinter, Libby must place her trust in her guide who shadows her side in perfect synchronization. To show this bond, Charlotte utilizes the ‘lucky blue tether’ that links them physically whilst they run, twisting the shape for it to be viewed as an eye from a certain perspective.

The Art at the Edge project is a celebration of artistic and sporting diversity and excellence
The great success of the British sports team at the Bejing Olympics was the catalyst for this project which brings together 30 of Britain’s best established and up and coming sculptors to interpret individual sporting disciplines.
In recent years sculpture has transformed into a myriad of forms and styles, traditional carving and modelling now co-exist alongside construction and assemblage to create the wonderful and sometimes challenging diversity that is contemporary British Sculpture.
Bronze casting long associated with statuary and commemorative works is now the medium that many artists choose to best convey their original ideas. The results are both an exploration of the processes of casting and of the artists imaginative creativity.
Our selection of sculptures attempts to create a journey through sculptural styles and themes introducing the wonder of sporting achievement and aspirations as interpreted by the artist, looking forward to the Olympics in 2012.
